I heard the word '𝑺𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒎𝒆𝒔' for the first time in Rakib Hasan's 'Three Detectives' series. There, most likely, the 'Three Detectives' leader Kishore Pasha was jokingly referred to as 'Wee Sherlock' type. As I read the books, I used to think, 'Who is this Sherlock?' But I could guess that it must be a great detective. However, I had the good fortune to read Satyajit Ray's 'Feluda Sambari' at the beginning of my teenage years. Strangely, I see the name 'Sherlock Holmes' coming up here in the various adventures of Mr. Felu Mittir. This time my patience really broke and I was pleasantly surprised! Who is he? Who is Sherlock Holmes?
Then, one day while in high school, he came across a black-and-white print of Sherlock Holmes at a village fair. Whether the book is original or fake, its translation or how it will be, I bought the book that day without thinking so much. There were several stories in the book. Then I read, legendary author 𝑺𝒊𝒓 𝑨𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒖𝒓 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒏 𝑫𝒐𝒚𝒍𝒆's timeless creation Sherlock Holmes. As a detective, I got some idea why this Sherlock Holmes has been immortalized for centuries in movies, books or by word of mouth as a milestone in detective and investigation.
Now back to reading the series.
The British popular crime drama TV series '𝑺𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒌' is based on the detective stories of the famous novelist Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's timeless detective novel Sherlock Holmes. Although produced by the British network 𝑩𝑩, Sherlock also aired simultaneously on 𝑩𝑺𝑨 for the benefit of being a masterpiece 𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒒 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔𝒔.
𝟏𝟗𝒕𝒉 𝟏𝟗𝒕𝒉 𝒄𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒚's 𝑳𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒏 town, 𝑽𝒊𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒊𝒂𝒂𝒂 𝑬/𝑬𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅. A Sherlock fan would be hard-pressed to imagine Sherlock in any other timeline than the late 19th and early 20th centuries. However, a timeless or historical fiction will limit people to a certain period of time? No, don't keep it. Sherlock is no exception. The showrunner/creator of the series envisioned what a 21st century Sherlock Holmes would be like. So, here in the modern day city of London we meet our beloved Sherlock Holmes and his companion 𝑫𝒓. 𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒏 See the adventures of 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒔𝒐𝒏 together.
𝐏𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐦𝐫𝐲:
The Sherlock series features Sherlock Holmes, known as the 'consulting detective' or '𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒅𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆' (in present-day London) solving a variety of mysteries. Joining Holmes in this adventure as his assistant is his roommate, former military doctor John Watson, who later turns from roommate to Sherlock's best friend. Just as Holmes solved the cases of his ordinary clients and caught criminals in the field, he had to become a consultant to Metropolitan Police Inspector 𝑮𝒓𝒆𝒈 𝑳𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆 by himself with his efficiency, skill, intelligence, power of imagination, sharp thinking. Not only that, because his brother 𝑴𝒚𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒕 𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒎𝒆𝒔 is an official important emergency position of the government, Holmes was called directly by the British governors to lend a helping hand in solving many national and international tasks. And Sherlock should not have a case. He likes this responsibility. When people are hungry, they give food to their stomach. And Sherlock is hungry. And his investigation is needed to satisfy this hunger. But if this investigative case is boring, Sherlock will not continue; Must be interesting, thrilling, mysterious and intriguing. Meanwhile, John Watson is doing another incident! He blogs documenting the adventures of Sherlock and his two friends on the Internet. Hiding in secret, living a lonely life, Holmes has now become a public idol, a celebrity, a great personality. But, despite his reluctance to do what else!
Although the narrative of the series varies between the crime and the criminal in each episode, Sherlock's arch-rival and one of the only antagonists 𝑱𝒊𝒎 𝑴𝒓𝒊𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒚 is seen repeatedly clashing with Sherlock. And the entire series has this effect in one form or another.
Not to mention a few more notable characters in recurring roles. Including Sherlock's landlady 𝑴𝒓𝒔. 𝑯𝒖𝒅𝒔𝒐𝒏 and his associate in various cases 𝑴𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝑯𝒐𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓, a pathologist at the hospital.
Despite being an updated Holmes, many of the main themes of the series remain the same as the original Holmes of the book. That is, each season/episode is loosely adapted/based/inspired by case studies from Doyle's novel. So, we can call it a 𝑳𝒐𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝑨𝒅𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 of Doyle's Sherlock.
In the small watch list of TV series that I had arranged, Sherlock was there among all the time that I got due to Corona Pandemic, Lockdown, Quarantine. The reason for keeping Sherlock is, I am a Sherlock Holmes novel lover myself, then again two Sherlock Holmes movies of director 𝑮𝒖𝒚 𝑹𝒊𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒆 and there 𝑹𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝑫𝒐𝒘𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒚 𝑱𝒓. 𝒂𝒔 Sherlock Holmes & 𝑱𝒖𝒅𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒘 𝒂𝒔 Dr. John Watson's performance, I fell in love with Sherlock; And another reason for the omission is that Sherlock was among the top TV shows with good ratings. When this is the case, there is no other way to miss the opportunity to see it? tell me
The 'Sherlock' series has been highly praised and praised for its great story writing, acting and direction. And critically reviewed positively. Also got enough acceptability on different sites. Among them, 𝑹𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒏 𝑻𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒆𝒔 gave the second season a 𝟗𝟒% fresh rating and 𝑴𝒆𝒕𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒄 on their Tomatometer. A record number of people watched the series. Compared to that, though, last season fell down a lot on all fronts. And you have seen in the title above, the amount of awards in Sherlock's possession.
𝑩𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒕𝑪𝒖𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉 has portrayed such a visionary, intellectually superpowered, clever and genius character like Sherlock with unquestionable and flawless performance.
John Watson is played by 𝑷𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑱𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒔𝒐𝒏 of '𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑯𝒐𝒃𝒃𝒊𝒕' franchise fame 𝑭𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒏. And the performance of 𝑨𝒏𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒘 𝑺𝒄𝒐𝒕𝒕 in the role of Jim Moriarty is incredible. Expressions, impressions, moves, voices, acting all. Series creator 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝑮𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒔 himself plays Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock's elder brother, in a beautifully solemn performance. Molly Hooper's character is like a total crush. Sherlock just doesn't care. However, I was hoping to see an 18+ scene of Sherlock and Molly in the series. Eat! Butt, hooray! Mrs. Hudson also did a sweet act. Apart from the supporting characters, the performances of all the other important characters are charming and brilliant. The series would feel incomplete without them.
Those who have read all of Doyle's Sherlock case books can better judge how successful the creators or directors have been in making or presenting the series by imagining the characters and matching them with the series. Whether there has been any change in the main character and how is the performance.
Sherlock's music composing is also excellent and mind-blowing. Film scores, theme songs and other original sound tracks have already been listened to several times on my YouTube and Spotify. The tunes hit the head and the heart. listen often Looks very sweet. Very favorite BGMs too. Hats off to 𝑫𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒅 𝑨𝒓𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒆𝒍 𝑷𝒓𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒅.
Each episode is like a movie of about an hour and a half. So, don't worry that it will end just when you start. But the number of episodes is not much. Only three each season. 𝑨𝒔 𝑰 𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒅, 'Anthology Series'; So, understand that each season or episode will have a different story or case study. However, throughout the series, the power of Sherlock Holmes' notorious rival aka 𝑵𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒔/𝑨𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒎𝒚 Jim Moriarty can be seen. The cases will also be dizzying in some places. So it wasn't possible for me to fast-forward to the next episode with 𝑩𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒆. However, for some interconnected topics, individual episodes are so intense that many cannot bear to move on to the next episode or season. On top of that, a detective series full of British accent English plus mystery, trilling, scientific investigation; As a result, I had to move on with Sherlock solving his case. A lot of time has been spent to understand this.
The fourth series received mixed reviews. I personally didn't like 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒃𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒅𝒆 so much. Here the ending reaches 'Nowhere'. So I felt 𝑼𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒚 and a little 𝑾𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆. It was not boring though. I thoroughly enjoyed it. And in the first episode of the fourth season, '𝑾𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑾𝒂𝒕𝒔𝒐𝒏 story', my mystery, thrill, investigation seemed a little missing. Irrelevant seems a lot with the overall Sherlock. The second episode was much improved and interesting. However, although I was optimistic about the introduction of a new character in the final episode, I was also a little worried. Cause, Doyle didn't have this character in his chest. Sadly, the final episode featuring a completely new character is also disappointing. Adding extra color to the new character didn't suit me, and the backstory matching the present story felt like a failed attempt. Some may find it boring. I have enjoyed this season quite a bit though.
Not to mention the two surprising 𝑻𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒂/𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒕 in the series. 𝑨𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒂 𝑨𝒃𝒃𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒐𝒏 as Mary Watson was Martin's real life partner. And the parents of the Holmes siblings were actually Cumberbatch's single parents.
Finally, I thoroughly enjoyed Sherlock's '𝑴𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏' in the series. Absolutely enjoyed watching. The first three seasons are my favorite. Loved it so much that I ended up watching an unaired pilot of the series, a BBC mini-episode, and a special episode before the fourth season premiere. The best, delicious, spicy, mindblowing series to remember. Sherlock and Watson's 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒚 friendship is also touching in the series as always. Looking forward to the next '𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒖𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒅' season.
𝑯𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒊𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒏’𝒕 𝒚𝒆𝒕.
